First I apologize for not posting anything for a while. So much has happened I haven’t had a chance to write about.

Quick recap:

After I got my initial certification for sailing, I went to work in Chicago and joined a sailboat racing team. Now as glamorous as it sounds it was in a Colgate 26 and way more fun that serious. I will write later about that adventure. I also met a guy named Tony who has sailed and raced for years. He will pop back up later.

Now for the big news! I purchased my own sailboat. It is a Beneteau Oceanis 400.

Wait that’s not it. That’s Jesse’s new boat!

There she is on the open ocean.

I just got back from Puerto Rico where she is berthed and will be working to refit some things and get her ready to live on. This is a huge step from my initial plan “My-zombie-apocalypse-plan-into-an-early-retirement-plan” to where I am today.

The end is near to a new beginning in my life. I am going to work until my son graduates from school. Try to sell off all my toys and spend as much time as I can on the boat traveling to different places.

  1. I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own blog and was curious what all is required to get setup? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very internet savvy so I’m not 100 certain. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
